Radio Show Review

I think the Radio show was pretty funny, but most importantly it was the truth and seemed as though, the people talking were telling the truth and not just telling a story. The episode I listened to was the one called "Liars". The episode was basically explaining why people tell lies, what lies to do people, and how lies affect peoples lives. One story that was told in the episode was about how a lady had a husband and her husband told her all of these lies for no reason. And she explains how she would just ask certain questions, just to here the type of lie he would make up. After a while, she started to find it humorous. So, one day she got tired of hearing his lies so she kicked him out. Then, in the other story its about a guy and his roomate in college, and how his roommate would tell lies about his life, but come to find out his roommate only told lies becasue he didn't think his life was exciting or something to rave about. Lies are told for many of reasons, but never should be told.

Al Green - One of the best of all time

Al Green is one of the best soul music singers of all time. He is a member of the rock and roll of hall of fame. He was born on April 13, 1946. He was born in Forrest City, Arkansas. He also is a gospel artist. In 2004 he was induced into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. He is also ranked #65 on Rolling Stone's top 100 artists of all time. He also received the lifetime achievement award on the BET awards. All together he is one of the best to ever do it.

When aritists feature on each others songs.

I think the idea of artists featuring on each other songs is great. The reason I say this is because when you bring two great artists on one song, it makes the song a hit. Also when others feature on each others songs I think its like a competition between the two artists, on who do the best on the song. Songs are even better when you combine one type of genre of musical artists and another. It brings variety and creativity to the song. That what makes songs great.

My favorite Song.

My favorite song is "Hater", by Jay-Z and Kanye West. I love the creativity of the song. The production of the song is excellent. I like the lyrics. The way Kanye and Jay-Z use their words to portray their feelings is magnificent. My favorite line in the song is "I'll never be done, I'm so rare." The reason I like this line is because it is original, but is unique at the same time. I like Jay-Z's whole CD, but I believe this song puts the album over the top.

Limewire

Personally, I love limewire. Limewire may be used for illegal reasons but helps people out. You can find all types of music on limewire. Altough, many use limewire to download music, many artists hate it because it allows people to download their music for free. I only listen to the music from limewire to listen. I don't download the music, because you can get in trouble for that. All together limewire can be good or bad at the same time.

Itunes

I use Itunes everyday, when I listen to music. Itunes is very convenient, it helps me organize music. It also helps with burning cd's. The only thing I don't like about Itunes is that you have to pay for songs. But I guess that's just how they make their money? Itunes is a great application to sit back and listen to, when things are going bad, or maybe even if you are feeling good. Itunes might be the best music applications created.

Autotune

Autotone is used by many artists. Autotune was used by artists in the 70's and was brought back to the music scene, last year. Artists such as Kanye West, Lil Wayne, and T-Pain use now. All three artists are three of the top artists in the music industry. Autotune is a great feature in music, it seems as though the person singing has pain in their music. Many are against autotune, including Jay-Z. Who made a song about it, called death of autotune. It is the future of music.

Bet's 106 and Park: Top 10 Live.

106 & Park is a music video show. It comes on, on weekdays on BET. It is the network's number one rated show. 106 & Park premiered on September 11, 2000. It presents popular rap and R&B music videos. Also segments and performers in a live studio audience, such as "Wild Out Wednesday!" and "Freestyle Friday." The show was originally produced in Harlem, New York. Upon its premiere, the series ran for one hour. In 2001, it was extended to 90 minutes. Starting in 2008, most episodes became two hours long. The show celebrated its 2,000th episode on Wednesday, August 20, 2008. The Show's 10th year anniversary special is currently slated for September 2010.

My favorite R&B artists.

Ne-yo is my favorite R&B artists. The reason that he's my favorite R&B artists is that he has a rhythm. He has a unique style, and can never be duplicated. He also writes music for other artists and produces songs. He is one of the best at what he does. I also like his music because he respects women in his music. Me and my mother listen to Ne-yo in the car all the time. His lyrics are real and have a great choice of wording to the songs. His songs are quality, and not just a song talking about sex. That is what I like about Ne-yo.

What I think about rock music.

Personally, I don't like rock music. The reason I don't like rock music is because I never can understand what the song is about. Rock music seems too vague. It's only my opinion though. Many people love rock music but personally I don't. I never did, and rock music may be a good genre of music, but I will never know because I don't care to find out. I may be wrong but that's just how I feel about the genre of music. It doesn't interest me. If anyone has a problem with it so be it. I am a human, with human rights. In my opinion, rock music is pointless screaming.

How music influences me?

Music influences me because it is my passion and it helps me in everyday life. It plays in my head and just vibe to the music. The lyrics are inspiring and encouraging. The things that the artists say in the music are just explaining my feelings. It is my joy and happiness. Everything in life revolves around music. Music is the backbone of art, life, fun, and inspiration. Music is everything.

What? Rock music

Rock music is a genre of popular music. It started in the 1960s. It has its roots in 1940s and 1950s. It originated from rock and roll, rhythm and blues, country music, folk music, jazz, and classical music. Rock revolves around the guitar back beat. Sounds from electric bass guitar, drums, and keyboard instruments such as organ, piano are used. Along with the guitar, keyboards, saxophone, and blues-style harmonica are used as soloing instruments. In its purest form, it has three chords, a strong, insistent back beat, and a catchy melody. Many people listen to rock music, it is a great genre of music.

What? R-n-B

Rhythm and blues is R&B. It's the name given to a wide-ranging genre of popular music. It was created by African Americans in the late 1940s and early 1950s. The term was originally used by record companies to refer to recordings marketed predominantly to urban African Americans such as: Urbane, rocking, jazz based music with a heavy, insistent beat. The has had a number of shifts in meaning. Rock and Roll, was created by R&B. By 1970's, rhythm and blues was being used to describe soul and funk. Since the 1990s, Contemporary R&B is now mainly used to refer to a modern version of soul and funk pop music.

Music relieves stress

I say that music relieves stress, because it is pain and happiness put into words. Music is the sound of life, it displays the human soul. Music is our light, joy, and happiness. It helps us to learn how to love ourselves, the way we should. Music shows the personality that mankind is capable of.

Where? Baltimore

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra is an internationally-renowned orchestra. It was founded in 1916. It was a publicly-funded municipal organization. The current Music Director is Marin Alsop. Center Stage is the premier theater company in the city. The Baltimore Opera was an important regional opera company. The Baltimore Consort has been a leading early music ensemble for over twenty-five years. Baltimore has received the opportunity to become a major regional player in the area of touring Broadway and other performing arts presentations.

What? Biggie and 2Pac Beef.

Biggie and 2pac are known to be the 2 best rappers ever. At first Pac and Big were friends, but after an incident at a studio where 2pac was badly beaten, their beef escalated. This happened because Biggie and his crew were in the studio. Tupac thought that they set him up, but it was not the case. From then on, their beef was also known as the East Coast vs. West Coast. They made songs disrespecting each other. The beef escalated into violence, in conclusion Tupac and Biggie were killed. this shows that killing is pointless.

3. A digital interface allows you to make the track sound the best it can. It also helps you trim the track, it is a way of making the track better.
4. Reverb is like the amount of feedback you get from when the sound hits an object. It's kind of like echo. It determines how fast the sound reflects back to you.

The Beginning - New Era

My idea is the beginning of new things. The beginning of new trends and how the trends were started. What the trends represent, and what makes the trend unique. The changes of trends of music, movies, clothing, shoes, hair, and the way lifestyles change throughout ages. The difference between now and then are trends. Trends determine how people act, look, and how people portray themselves. Some people follow trends, some don't. Trends are usually set by high profile celebrities, or popular people. "The beginning of the new.." is what we should call this. Because everyday is a new beginning. We should seperate them in categories of music, fashion, hair, style, sports, money, and the way people carry themselves in different ways, in different eras.

When? 1970's

1970's are important because they are the years in which hip hop first started. In the 1970's my favorite genre of music was formed. Hip hop is a great genre of music when it is used correctly. 1970's help me to this day, because I listen to hip hop on my way to places and it gets me hype and excited for my basketball games. I greatly appreciate the joy that hip hop brings to my heart. I love the rhythm and the lyrics to the music. The songs convey messages and bring a true sense of emotion. That is why the 1970's are important.

Travis Barker is a superstar drum player. He was the drummer for Blink 182, He turned the group into a hit group. He was born in Fontana, California. Travis Barker has been featured in many shows and movies. He also has drummed for many hip hop artists. Travis is married. He has many tattoos. His life was threatened in a plane crash. He makes a lot of money, and owns many businesses.

Who? Eminem

Marshall Bruce Mathers III was born on October 17, 1972. Also known as Eminem. He is an American rapper, record producer, and actor. Eminem quickly gained popularity in 1999 with his major-label debut album The Slim Shady LP. It won Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. His cd,The Marshall Mathers LP, became the fastest-selling hip hop album ever. It won a grammy. The Eminem Show also won a grammy. He won the Academy Award for Best Song for the movie 8 Mile. He played the lead, in the movie. He is the best selling music artist of the 2000s. Eminem is also ranked in the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time by Rolling Stone magazine.

My Dream Studio

I would want a music recording studio, for hip hop artists. I would love to have a studio in my basement, with soundproof walls. I would like to have a recording booth right in front of the mixer. In the back of the studio, I would like to have couches and reclining chairs where the artists, producers, and others can rest, conversate, or even go to sleep. Then in the back, I would have a refrigerator and a microwave so that when they are resting they have something to eat and something to drink, so that they can be comfortable. I would have surround sound speakers, so that while they are chilling they can listen to what they are working on, and share ideas with each other, and how they can make it better. I would have a TV, in the studio and also a game system to ease the minds of the people who are working on the song. My studio would be very comfortable and laid back. I would make my studio so comfortable that every artists would want to record there.

Who? The Game

Jayceon Terrell Taylor, grew up on the hard streets of Compton, California. Jayceon is talented in many areas. As a young child, he entered the street life (gangs, drugs, etc.), not knowing where his future would lead him. As a teenager Jayceon was tall for his age, being nicknamed "Stretch". Because of his height he began to play basketball, and in fact was very talented. He played basketball for high school team and was the star player. He could have earned a division 1 scholarship playing basketball, but his environment did not allow him too. He stayed in the drug life, and was shot. He then looked for another way to make a living. He turned to rapping. Jayceon turned into the "The Game". He is one of the best rappers of this era. He has brought out 3 albums, The Documentary, Doctor's Advocate, and LAX. They all were clasics. He has cut his career short, and has decided to be a loving father and take care of his family. Although, he is done rapping. He has left an imprint on "The Game", which people refer to as hip hop.

Kanye West, also known as Kanye, Ye, Yeezy, or Mr. West was born in Chicago, Illinois. He is a rapper, record producer, and author. He has released 4 albums as an artist so far. His first album was called The College Dropout, Late Registration, Graduation, and 808's and Heartbreak. All of these albums received many awards. Kanye has a style than can not be matched. He sings in some of his songs which give a unique style and taste to his music. His lyrical style is untouchable and in his music, he digs deep and tells stories about his life, in a rhythmic way. He gained his fame from producing music for Jay-Z. About.com ranked him #8 on the top 50 hip hop producers and he was voted the #1 hip hop MC by MTV. I guess we can say that, because of all of this, Kanye has what I call a "BIG EGO".

Dwayne Michael Carter, also known as Lil Wayne was born September 27, 1982. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He has became one of the greatest rappers of all time, although he is only 26 years old. At his young age, he is also a grammy award winning rapper. He started off his career with the Cash Money Recording group "Hot Boys", during his teenage years. His first album was called Tha Block Is Hot which came out in 1999. He then brought out a sequence of albums Tha Carter I, II, and III. After releasing, Tha Carter III, he earned 8 grammy awards. He is known as the best rapper of this era.

Who? Jay-Z

I like Jay-Z, because he is very creative. He has different types of ways of to tell a story in his songs. I also admire the way he carries his self. What I mean by this is that Jay-Z carries himself with confidence, intelligence, and respect. He has turned himself into one of the most successful African Americans in this time period. He is not only a hip hop artist, but he also owns many businesses. He is very classy and pays respect to those who deserve it. He is one of my role models. He influences me everyday when I listen to his inspiring CD, the Blueprint 3. In his songs, he shows a lot of maturity. His lyrics are excellently worded and is the best at what he does.
